Tummy Tuck overview
Better Results, Enhanced Safety
Changes occur in the abdomen as a result of aging, pregnancy and weight loss. Stretching of the skin can produce unsightly stretch marks, and the abdominal muscles and fascia also become more lax. Some people also experience excess fat deposits. These changes give the appearance of a protuberant abdomen, sometimes with overhanging skin.
Diet and exercise may help cut excess fatty tissue and partly tighten the muscles, but the laxity of the skin and fascia often prevent the abdomen from appearing youthful again.
One procedure, many benefits
Abdominoplasty corrects the loose skin, and sculpts the muscles to create a more contoured and trim appearing abdomen. Liposuction is often done to further refine and embellish the results. Attention is also given to producing a belly button that is aesthetically pleasing, and leaving a scar that is concealable by a bikini or underwear. Dr. LoMonaco will often do a pubic lift (Monsplasty) through the abdominoplasty incision to sculpt the pubic area and further enhance your results.
A custom surgical plan is formulated based on each patient’s needs. Dr LoMonaco may also use computer imaging and photographs to help you understand what your results may be. Patient education before surgery, along with nutritional counseling are other important steps addressed by Dr. LoMonaco and his staff prior to your surgery.
